Vacancy - Community Sport Advisor - Under fives

Written by Counties Manukau Sport

03 February 2017

A new and exciting employment opportunity is available.

We need an experienced person to support the new Family Fun Clubs in Mangere, Otahuhu and Papatoetoe.  Targeting under five year olds and their families who are of Pacific and Indian origin, you will be developing weekly exercises and playgroups, and finding local people who can deliver the activities to the community.

Another key element in the role is leading an Health Equity Campaign project in an Early Childhood Learning Centre in Otara.  Guided by a team of Advisors, you will develop, plan and implement test ideas that aim to increase the amount of physical activity observed by the children enrolled at the centre.  This will involve data collection and ongoing monitoring over a period of time.  Successful changes that make a positive impact will be shared across the sector so that Centres and parents learn and are more able to maintain healthy weights for their under-fives.

Applications close 14 February 2017.
