Papatoetoe Junior Sports Awards Nominations Open Now!

Presents in association with Kiwanis Club of Papatoetoe:

31st Papatoetoe Junior Sports Awards
These Awards which were inaugurated in 1987 will be held this year at KOLMAR on FRIDAY Evening 15 September 2017, and again being presented as a joint promotion of the Papatoetoe Sports Awards Trust and Kiwanis Club of Papatoetoe.  

Applications are now called for in the following categories for performances related to the period 1 August 2016 to 31 July 2017.

Nominations are invited from Colleges/Schools and Sporting Clubs within the Papatoetoe area. Nominees must be residents of Papatoetoe or participate in sport for a Papatoetoe based Club or College/School.


Nominations must be received by the organisers not later than 5pm 1 September 2017.


A College or Club may only nominate one person in each of the following categories:

(a) Sportspersons Category A Under 12 years of age on 1st January 2017.

(b) Sportspersons Category B Under 15 years of age on 1 January 2017.

(c) Sportspersons Category C Under 18 years of age on 1 January 2017. Nominees in the above categories will be judged on the following criteria - (i) Outstanding achievement in their sport during the qualifying period, or (ii) Contribution to the development of their club or school by way of coaching, refereeing/umpiring, or administration.

(d) PETER CLARK TROPHY Under 18 years on 1 January 2017 "Service to Sport" Nominees will be judged on their contribution to sport by way of coaching, refereeing/umpiring, or administration.

(e) STEVEN WREN TROPHY Criteria based on enjoyment of sport rather than achievement - may also apply to overcoming of disabilities. Key is to recognize and encourage the many sports people who just enjoy their involvement in sport.

(f) PAPATOETOE SPORTS AWARDS TROPHY FOR TEAM PERFORMANCE. For outstanding performance by a qualifying Club or School team under 18 years of age, in a local, regional, national or international competition.
