Bike Wise Month is nearly here!

February 2010 will see a huge selection of fantastic, fun-filled, safe cycling events nationwide,for all kiwis to enjoy. Maybe you haven’t been on a bike in years, or maybe you’re teaching your kids to ride, perhaps you’ve been thinking about riding to work but don’t know where or how to start, or it could be that you just love cycling already.Whatever your state of mind, there will be something for everyone when Bike Wise month rolls round again. Mayoral Challenge Franklin
Date: 23 February 2010, 6:00 pm
Location: Pukekohe Park Raceway
What's happening: Join us for a night of Franklin family cycling fun. Bring your bike, helmet, friends and family and chase Mayor Mark Ball around the track on your bike! Events are free and there's something for everyone. So come along and join in the fun and support Franklin's bid to win the Mayoral Challenge.

Mayoral Challenge Papakura

Location: Ardmore Aerodrome
What's happening:Ride the runway at Ardmore Airfield -First time ever. Bring the family, bikes and helmets and join the Mayor, Calum Penrose for 3km ride on the runway. Event will conclude with a sausage sizzle and lucky draw to win the Mayor's brand new Avanti bike. Free bike checks from 3.30pm. Enter from Airfield Rd

Papakura Cycle Carnival
Date: 16 March 2010,3:30 pm
Location: Ray Small Reserve, Elliot St
What's happening: A bike safety event for children aged 3 and up. Event includes fun activities plus bike inspections, road safety skills, and competitions. Loads of great prizes. Event runs until 7pm. Register via local schools or on the day.
