KiwiSport
We have distributed into the community over $2.8 Million dollars of Kiwisport funding over the last three years to meet the Kiwisport objectives and the Kiwisport fund for the next three year period will exceed $3 Million.
But what is KiwiSport...
KiwiSport is made up of 2 parts...
Direct Fund - Each school receives $13 per student – (primary/intermediate). Found in the Ministry of Education’s operations grant paid quarterly to schools and will be identified as a separate line in their entitlement notice.
Regional Partnership Fund – Allocated to RST’s to administer on a per capita formula as per direct funding model. CMSport has broken this into 2, with the FASTFUND (application under 5K) and PARTNERSHIP Fund (applications over 5K)
Who can apply to the KiwiSport Regional Partnership Fund?
Any club, school, RSO, NSO, community group.
Project should tick off the objectives and as many of the priorities as possible
Projects should show partnership and links to getting children into club sport where possible.
Projects should have some ‘contribution’ by applicants
What are the KiwiSport Objectives?
• More Kids - increase the number of school age children participating in organized sport – during school, after school and by strengthening links with sports clubs
• More Opportunities – increase the availability and accessibility of sport opportunities for all school aged children
• Better Skills – support children in developing skills that will enable them to participate effectively in sport at both primary and secondary level

Low cost opportunities for sport activities
Sport opportunities undertaken in local or cluster areas to avoid travel issues
Increase school club links
Training of volunteers/parents
Coaches – Recruitment, Retention, Recognition
