Meet the Team

Brendan Boreham - Community Sport Advisor for Bike

Brendan was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He moved to London in 2006 where he worked as a rowing coach for various school, university and club programs. While in London he gave up the gym membership and bought a bike. He entered his first triathlon (a half Ironman) and was hooked. "Cycling literally changed my life. I became more active and competed in a number of triathlons but I particularly love the longer distances".

Brendan witnessed the incredible increase in the number of cyclists in the UK as a result of a number of government initiatives aimed at increasing cycling participation for health benefits and as a means of transport. This led to him to complete his British Cycling Coaching qualification so that he could equip cyclists with the necessary skills to cycle safely and confidently.

At the end of 2015 Brendan moved to New Zealand. He is currently also involved with coaching rowing at Kings College in Auckland where he runs the girls programme.
