People who are inactive and want to be active but have health concerns go to the Green Prescription website or the Otara Health getting started website. If you have no health concerns use the search engine below to find activities.

CM Active is on the look out for energetic people to lead in the delivery of physical activity, sport or recreation programmes. CM Active offers training for anyone from the CM Active hub areas who are over 16 years of age to help them get start up activities going or energise existing activities.
The aim is to get people moving at the grass roots level. Each new leader will be mentored and supported by a member of the CM Active team.
Community Leaders Group Exercise Trainers Course
Community based people who would like to start teaching group exercise classes in the community. This course is a beginners level course. No prior experience or training is necessary.
Cost: Leaders delivering in Otara, Manurewa, Papkura, Waiuku, Pukekohe, Mangere are FREE, all others $50 per person
Dates for Training: Monday 10th October and Wednesday 12th October
Time: 6.30pm - 8.30pm
Venue: Te Puke Community Centre, Newbury Street, Otara

First Aid Course:
All leaders who deliver sport/ physical activity programme in the community must have a current first aid training certificate.
Cost: No charge for leaders delivering activity from our hub areas/ $50 all others.
Course Dates: Monday 17th October and Wednesday 19th October
Time: 6.00pm - 9.00pm
Venue: Otara Leisure Centre, 115 Bairds Road, Otara

Ki O Rahi Workshop:
The Ki O Rahi Workshop is a Maori Traditional Game. The training includes an understanding the Kaupapa (story) behind this game. The leader will learn how to play the game and how they can set up and referee the game in their communities.

Community based people who would like to start leading sports competitions in the community. This course is a beginners level course. No prior experience or training is necessary. Courses will be run throughout the year.
