Iwi of Origin 2008

Get your friends and whanau together to represent your iwi in an exciting Maori sports event to be held on the 27th September 2008.

National Iwi Rugby Tournament

New Zealand Rugby Union are seeking an expression of interest from Iwi who would like to participate in the first National Iwi Rugby Tournament scheduled for:

Saturday 11th October 2008 at Hopuhopu, Ngaruawahia.

The structure of the Tournament will be based on entries received for senior men's and woman's 15 aside teams. All entries are to be returned by Friday 26th September and a tournament booklet will be sent out once team numbers have been finalised.

The national Iwi Tournament is supported by both Te Puni Kokiri and the New Zealand Rugby Union and the cost to Iwi organisations will be those associated with selection, assembly, travel and accomodation of representative teams attending the Tournament.

Depending on the number of Iwi and teams wanting to participate, there may be some travel funding assistance for those Iwi travelling long distances.

Ruakura Hauora O Tainui presents - "Whanau Toptown Sports Day"

Saturday 15th November 2008

9.30-12 noon: Sports at Finlayson Park (opposite Manurewa Marae)

1-4pm: Prizegiving & Entertainment at Manurewa Marae

Enter in a whanau team. Seeking all whanau who want to have loads of fun!

Plenty of fun activities on the day including spot prizes, giveaways, health promotion messages, heaps of health info and prizegiving.

Organisations/Clubs/Health Groups are encouraged to come down and set up a stall. For more information on this click here
