Auckland Sport Reference Group

In October 2009, the four Regional Sports Trusts that operate across Greater Auckland (Counties Manukau Sport, Sport Waitakere, Harbour Sport and Sport Auckland, collectively known as the RST Alliance) facilitated a forum for sporting organisations in the greater Auckland region on the opportunities and challenges presented by the upcoming changes to Auckland's local government structure.

Following the feedback provided at this and subsequent forums across the region, the Auckland Sports Reference Group (ASRG) has been formed with a mission to advocate for appropriate recognition, resourcing and strengthening of sport in the Auckland region.

Terms of Reference for the group have been documented and membership applications are now being accepted from regional sporting organisations and other sports groups in accordance with the membership criteria. The ongoing facilitation and operation of the ASRG will be supported by the RST Alliance.
