CoachCorp

CoachCorp creates relationships between companies and community sport to get more people involved in sport and physical activity.

Companies that are part of the CoachCorp programme contribute to New Zealand sport by allowing participating employeesflexi-time to be coaches, managers and officials in school and club level sport. This lets more people participate in sport and raises the performance of the athletes.

CoachCorp brings benefits to employees, businesses and to people participating in sport.

CoachCorp is a key tactic of the New Zealand Coaching Strategy 2004, aiming to increase the numbers of coaches in the community and the quality of coaching.

How does it work?

Once a company signs up with CoachCorp, their employees can register to join the programme.

When an employee signs up, they are contacted by either the National Sport Organisation or local Regional Sports Trust, who work with them to get an appropriate placement.

Once registered, the companyallows the employee two to four hours a week flexi-time for theduration of the sport season, which is generally 10-14 weeks.
