Halberg Trust Sport Opportunity

The Halberg Trust Sport Opportunity Programme is committed to ensuring disabled people can participate in inclusive sport and active leisure within their community.

The programme is delivered by Sport Opportunity Advisers who work within the Regional Sports Trusts located throughout New Zealand.

The Adviser and Counties Manukau Sport staff work together to achieve the programme’s goals.

The programme, which started in June 2000, is all about encouraging and enabling disabled people to participate with their peers in an inclusive environment as they develop within a sporting or recreational pathway.

The major objective of the Halberg Trust Sport Opportunity Programme is to provide people with the skills and confidence for inclusion into sport and active leisure with their peers.

For more information on the programme, please see the Halberg Trust website Sporting Opportunities section here
