FMS Resources and Ideas
Fundamental Movement Skills are the building blocks for successful participation in games and sports. On this page you will find helpful links and resource booklets for the development of FMS.
SPARC Resources - Developing Fundamental Movement Skills
The Developing Fundamental Movement Skills resource uses play and simple activities to help get kids involved in games and improve at their own rate. It aims to establish a sound base for sports, so young people can move easily into modified sports and adult sports.
You can download or purchase the Developing Fundamental Movement Skills resource from this website: http://www.sparc.org.nz/en-nz/young-people/Ages-5-12-Years/Developing-Fundamental-Skills/
SPARC Resources - KiwiDex
The KiwiDex resource has fun, informal activities to use which encourages kids to be spontaneous and creative. The KiwiDex activities can be adapted to suit the children, facilities and people available to take them. KiwiDex helps develop the basic movement skills used in sport and other physical activity.
