Primary Sport Manurewa

In partnership with the Manurewa Community Facilities Charitable Trust
Following the successful implementation of The John Walker “Find Your Field of Dreams “Primary Sport Programme in Papatoetoe and Otara schools in 2009-2010, Counties Manukau Sport and the Manurewa Community Facilities Charitable Trust are introducing a similar Primary Sport Programme to Manurewa Schools in 2011.
Primary Sport will provide opportunities for primary school children to be involved in sport and physical recreation by:
o Building out of school hours sports programmes to complement in school activities. (e.g. before school, at lunchtimes, after school).
o Providing in-school support opportunities with coaching support and skills training for teachers.
o Providing assistance to schools to encourage inter and intra school sports competitions.
o Building partnerships with providers working in the community who meet identified sporting needs of the primary schools in the area.
o Providing regular “Have a Go” sports days.
Primary Sport will also link students to sports clubs by encouraging and building links between the school sports programmes and the clubs.
PrimarySport will help:
