All Whites Competition Winners Announced

Primary Sport children in Otara and Papatoetoe where invited to draw and write their experiences of the All Whites v Jamaica game.

Thanks to Cuesports, New Zealand Football, Auckland Football, ATEED and Counties Manukau Sport 2000 tickets where distributed to South Auckland Families to attend the game at Mt Smart stadium last month.

A lot of sporting events have taken place in Otara and Papatoetoe Schools in Term 1 2012.

Otara Schools Futsal reaches halfway stage

Redoubt North boys and Bairds Mainfreight girls Futsal teams remain undefeated after three weeks of games at the Otara Leisure Centre.

Flat Bush boys have not conceded a goal yet and could be a force to be reckoned with in the next few rounds.

Otara Schools Sprint to Success

Nine Otara Schools battled it out for the chance to become Otara Sports Cluster Athletics Champions 2012.

The venue of Jellicoe Park Manurewa was one of the first tracks that Sir John Walker triumphed in his early days as an athlete.

Over 250 children took part in Track and Field events. A huge turnout swelled the day to near on 400 people.

St.Johns of Otara Primary School took out the overall winners.

Otara Primary Schools Futsal Results (week 2)

Another fascinating round of Futsal games where played at the Otara Leisure Centre.

In the Boys section Redoubt North are in first place after they maintained their 100% winning record.

In the girls section, Bairds Mainfreight have maximum points after two rounds.

Valerie Adams is Get Set Go!

Valerie Adams took time out before her Olympic journey begins in London to support the launch of Get Set Go!

Three Otara Schools Dawson, Redoubt North and Rongomai attended the day. One teacher said of the day “Really enjoyed the event yesterday.  So did the kids. It was fantastically organised with plenty of information prior to the event and great assistance on the day.”

Otara Schools GET SET GO with Valerie Adams

Valerie Adams will be meeting three Otara Schools as part of the launch of Get Set Go being held at The Cloud Auckland on Thursday 23 February 2012.

Get Set Go will host around 400 children who will take part in various athletics based skill stations.

The event starts at 11:30am and will finish at 2pm.

Counties Manukau Sport staff will be supporting the three local schools involved , Dawson,  Redoubt North and Rongomai.


Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Junior School Have a Go Morning

Friday 24 February will be Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Junior School of Otara’s Have A GO morning.

The event is organised by Primary Sport.

The sports on offer will be Ultimate Frisbee, Football, Cricket, AFK Kiwikick and Oval ball Station.

Auckland Football, Auckland Cricket and AFLNZ have pledged their support on the day. This will be complimented by Flying Disc Consulting and Primary Sport coaches.
