Papakura Sports Awards - 2016 Winners Announced

The Papakura Sports Awards are generously supported by the Papakura Local Board and are a celebration of the sporting talent in this region. The Awards also acknowledge the wonderful support contributed by our community's volunteers.

The 2016 Papakura Sports Awards were hosted at the Karaka Pavilion on 11 September 2016 with 'rugby legend' Keven Mealamu as the guest speaker.

The Award winners were: 

  • Te Mahia Village Rising Star Female of the Year - Courtney Church
  • Ray White Drury and Takanini "Rising Star Male of the Year" - Rafe Couillault
  • Dodd Civil Constructions "Service to Sport" - Ian Milne, Stacey Te Moananui, Therese Dixon, Bryan Allan Reynolds, Dr Sandy Bansal, Lenore Lawrence, Janine Glover, Helen Lynch, Norm Hyland, Roger Sharp
  • Windsor Florist "Official of the Year" - Jessica Beard
  • Property Management Disabled Sportsperson of the Year - Samuel Muir-James
  • Papakura Marae "Coach of the Year" - Saua Leaupepetele
  • Veolia "Junior Team of the Year" - U15 Counties Manukau Badminton
  • Papakura Business Association "Junior Sportswoman of the Year" - Nikita Wells
  • M&M Trophy "Junior Sportsman of the Year"- Jason Matthews
  • Papakura Marae "Masters of the Year" - Amos Ale
  • Archibald & Associates "Club of the Year" - Ardmore Marist Rugby & Sports Club
  • Foot Mechanics "Team of the Year" - Papakura Sea Eagles Premier Team
  • Reflect Icon Signs "Sportswoman of the Year" - Atawhai Tupaea
  • Takanini Village "Sportsman of the Year" - Rory Marshall-Barton
  • Papakura Local Board "Supreme Award 2016" - Jessica Beard
