North Island Secondary Schools Sports Conference 2012

The North Island RSD Network are hosting this year’s professional development conference for secondary school educators, sports directors and sports coordinators, the North Island Secondary Schools Sport Conference 2012.

The North Island Secondary Schools Sport Conference is the premier professional development opportunity offered to secondary school sports personnel throughout the North Island in 2012. The conference has a strong emphasis on enhancing and improving the personal and professional capabilities of secondary school educators and sports co-ordinators.

The North Island Secondary Schools Sport Conference will be an opportunity for sports personnel to acquire new knowledge, share information and to gain insights into the future of secondary school sport.

The North Island Secondary Schools Sport Conference is being held at Rotorua Events Centre from 11 to 12 of June.

The conference will run over three days, beginning with a delegates dinner on Sunday, June 10 and with opportunities for sponsors to participate in a range of workshops on June 11 and 12, including hands on practical sessions.

The conference aims to:

1. Provide a major professional development opportunity for sports personnel.
2. Provide an opportunity to hear high profile keynote speakers addressing relevant issues.
3. Offer an opportunity to discuss high level philosophical ideas and additionally, practical, hands-on experience – ensuring practical tools can be taken back to schools.
4. Bring relevant applied research to the fore through presentations.
