Young sporting talent honoured in Local Board Junior Sports Awards

2019 Franklin Junior Sporting Excellence Award Winner & Under19 Sportsman of the Year - Liam Lawson, Motorsport

Counties Manukau Sport has enjoyed a fantastic week showcasing the vibrant and exciting youth talent that is flourishing in Counties Manukau schools and clubs. With two Junior Sport Awards being hosted in Manurewa and Franklin this week, it has been inspiring to see the level at which our young athletes, coaches, officials, and teams are participating in, some athletes travelling overseas to Australia and Europe to follow their ambition.

Judges had to choose from an impressive list of nominations with finalists excelling locally and regionally, and many also achieving in national and international competition. Thank you Judges for undertaking a difficult task this year.

Special thanks also to the Manurewa and Franklin Local Board members who continue to support the Awards every year and ensure they can continue. We also acknowledge the many local business sponsors who gave generously, and along with Local Board members were pleased to take part by presenting the awards on stage.
